THE HISTORY OF INC-CIN

The INC-CIN can trace the beginnings of its existence back to 1927.

The previous year, 1926, the International Committee of Historical Sciences (CISH), was founded in Geneva, but numismatics was initially not considered to be a part of it.

When the CISH congress was held in Warsaw in 1933, A. von Loehr, Austria, and H. Almquist, Sweden, proposed the creation of a commission of numismatics within the CISH and in 1934 the INC-CIN constituted itself as a commission of the CISH.

Later, in 1959, INC-CIN change into an organization affiliated with the CISH.
